High Blood Pressure
High Blood Pressure and Cholesterol are very common these days it not only affects adults and old age people but teens are also suffering from it just because of abnormal eating habits. In the UK out of every three adults, one is suffering from high blood pressure.
High blood pressure is also known as hypertension in medical term. Mostly as we grow old we start ignoring ourselves and eat and drink too much forgetting that after 30’s and 40’s we need to take care of ourselves as our health start deteriorating.
If you are addicted to alcohol then you are at high risk of developing high cholesterol and blood pressure, you have to follow guidelines provided by the government. As you grow old you need to get your facts right and keep your blood pressure in check.
High Blood Pressure
High blood pressure is when your heart beats faster than normal, blood pressure is needed to properly circulate blood through your arteries and it also determines the strengths of pushing the blood.
The normal heart needs low pressure to pump the blood but high blood pressure means your heart is pumping harder and blood is carried with great pressure exerting strain on heart and arteries which is not good for your heart and can leads to heart attacks, even your kidneys can be affected due to it.
Most Common Symptoms Of High Blood Pressure And Cholesterol
As I am aging, I am most certainly worried about high blood pressure and high cholesterol but doctors say you can’t feel or notice them even people remain undiagnosed most of their lives. High blood pressure has rarely had prominent symptoms.
Causes Of High Blood Pressure
As far as I know, there is no clear cause of high blood pressure but there are several factors that relate to the risk of high cholesterol and high blood pressure.
• Regular intake of alcohol
• Very little or no exercise
• Family history
• Too much consumption of salt
It is a silent health killer, you can only know about it when you measure it. I advise you all to have blood pressure monitor device at home so you can keep track of it and know about it if it becomes high. Normal blood pressure should be below 140/90mmhg5 but as we grow it becomes high. It can seriously affect you causing stroke and heart attack. To avoid these one needs to lower his blood pressure.
In extreme cases, emergency treatment must be given to a person. You should also do self-assessments regularly if you are eating oily stuff too much and drinking and smoking a lot.
Tips On How To Control Cholesterol Without Medicine
One needs to make positive changes to keep their health in good shape and to lower the risks of high blood pressure and cholesterol. Adopt healthy lifestyle as you age so you stay away from these diseases. Here are some tips which you can easily follow at home to keep your cholesterol and blood pressure under normal range.
1. Cut alcohol from your diet, stop drinking it because it is going to seriously affect your health in long-term without your notice if you are a heavy drinker control it and limit it as you are more prone to hypertension.
2. Engage in healthy eating habits and exercise regularly. If you can’t exercise start brisk walking and do it for 20 mints minimum.
3. Keep caffeine intake to the minimum too because it can also raise your blood pressure and heart rate. Do not exceed from three cups a day. It’s always good to cut down on caffeine try other alternatives.
4. Stress and bad temper can also result in high blood pressure avoid it and think positive things. Stress can raise heartbeat resulting in high blood pressure it is for short term but we should always care about it.
5. It is a common thing among people that when they feel stressed out they eat junk food and soda which raises cholesterol levels these things can have a long-term effect on your body. Try to eat low carb food when you stressed out and fruits are also a great option in these situations some fruits are also mood boosters include them in your diet.
6. Keep track of what you are eating and drinking.
7. Eat healthy meals three times a day. In snacks take low slat and low fat options. Nuts is the best option to take a snack and it also lowers blood pressure.
8. Try to have less saturated fats, trans fats and dietary cholesterol. Saturated fats are in butter, red meat, coconut oil, dairy. High cholesterol foods are egg yolks, shellfish and organ meats avoid these too. Instead eat cold water fishes like trout, salmon and sardines which are rich in omega 3 fatty acids good for health.
9. All the red meat must be avoided including beef, pork, lamb and goat meat. You need the cuts which are under 30% fats in them. Red meat has heme iron in them which causes type 2 diabetes and colon cancer.
10. Eat more and more fiber such as beans, fruits and vegetables. They are good for lowering cholesterol levels naturally and try Honey.
11. Include sweet potatoes, yams and peas in your diet.
12. Eat apples at least take one apple daily.
13. Protein-rich foods are also suggested for people with high blood pressure and cholesterol. Every type of beans is good for you as they are packed with protein they are excellent alternative to meat.
14. Nuts and seeds are proven to lower cholesterol levels. Try to have unsalted varieties and best to choose raw or dry roasted nuts.
15. Being obese will automatically make you patient of high blood pressure so when you lose excess weight you save yourself from all sorts of diseases.
